Jo told the presenting duo over the phone that she was in over £1000 of debt that she was unaware of until her long-term partner walked out on the family.

"I just can't afford the gas and electricity that's necessary, let alone the extras that an 11-year-old girl wants".

Clearly moved by the phone-in, Phillip, 56, announced that they would help out Jo by clearing her debt. "You're not in debt any more", Phil said.

"Phil and I are not usually here but it's our last show before the summer break and there is lots of Friday fun coming up".

Jo could be heard getting emotional as she thanked the stars for helping.

As today's show (14.07.17) drew to a close, Holly said: "Right, we're off for a few weeks now but the rest of the team will still be here to take you through the summer".

"A third tweeted: "@Schofe and @hollywills are two incredible people.

The pair also marked the occasion by presenting the show on a Friday for a change, taking over temporarily from regular Friday hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

Although the high point of the show might just have been the moment when Rylan gave the pair a parting gift of Love Island T-shirts and personalised water bottles - with Holly keeping her "I've got a text" top on for the remainder of the show.

But Phil and Holly, who were hosting their last show before their seven-week summer break, came to the rescue.

While Phil and Holly might be off, the show will still continue with Ruth and Eamonn taking the presenting reigns for the summer.
