Vallejo is not now on tour after representing Spain at the recent Under-21 European Championship in Poland, but the young centre-back has been handed Pepe's old number three shirt ahead of the new season.

"Real Madrid CF and Real Betis Balompié have agreed to transfer player Dani Ceballos, who is linked to the club for the next six seasons", read an official statement on the club's website.

Real's signing of Ceballos follows the departure of midfielder James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich on loan this week.

"The player will be presented on Thursday, July 20, at 1:00 p.m., in the arena of honor of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium". He will then travel to the U.S. on Friday to join up with his new teammates for pre-season training.

Ceballos, 20, burst to prominence after winning the Player of the Tournament award as Spain reached the European Under-21 Championship final this summer, and Madrid have beaten off competition from La Liga rivals Barcelona to clinch his signature.

Neither club have announced a fee for the Andalusian but reports in Spain suggest Madrid will pay in the region of 17 million euros for a player who has made 65 LaLiga appearances for Betis since his debut at the age of 17 in 2014. Have your say in the comments section below.
