"We're going to take some aggression out on Ar-kansas this Black Friday".

According to the Columbia Daily Tribune, he said before the November 25 game that "it would be a huge mistake" if Arkansas showed up to play. But that rivalry is always going to be personal. They want to come to our house, they want to step on our field, they want to run through the A-gap. "Well, you are going to get hit in the mouth", Beisel continued. "It's disrespectful to step on the field at University of Missouri and think you are coming out with a win".

Missouri's second-year coach Barry Odom was blunt when discussing how a tough 2016 season affected him.

"He understood where it came from", Beisel said of Bielema. "We are both extremely competitive, he's a great coach, hats off to his staff, his team". "I don't think any outsiders believed we were going to win the game".

Missouri head football coach Barry Odom.

"For the Arkansas beat writers, I bought Beisel ... because I understand we're supposed to flame that rivalry a little bit up", Odom said. "You're welcome in advance, Bob Holt".

Beisel kept going on Wednesday. "I will say that that team down south will always be below us - at least geographically, they will always be below us".

Beisel said he expected Missouri "to win a lot of games" this season coming off a 4-8 season in Odom's first year at the helm.

The supremely confident Beisel admits the comments were more or less 'for show, ' but were delivered with a clear goal in mind. "Go fix it", he said.

"I thought, 'What better way than to sell some tickets and get some fans to the game and get them excited?' So I'm killing two birds with one stone there", he said. I tell you what, if they do decide to come, it's going to be a hectic. I want what he has, and he wants what I have.
