Donald Trump Says Mexico Will 'Absolutely' Pay for Wall

Speaking with reporters before a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto at the G20 Summit in Germany, President Trump said that he "absolutely" still wants Mexico to pay for the border wall. President Trump emphasized the strong bilateral relationship that the United States enjoys with Mexico and noted the importance of renegotiating NAFTA to help workers in both countries.

Mexico will erect a three inch phallic monument in honor of Trump before they pay for the damn wall.

According to reports late last month, Customs and Border Protection was still reviewing companies' bids to build the 1,900-mile structure. -Mexican border and have Mexico pay for construction.

"Regarding payment of the border wall, both presidents recognized their clear and very public differences of opinion on this sensitive subject, and agreed to resolve their differences as part of a comprehensive discussion".

Pena Nieto canceled a meeting with Trump that was scheduled for January 31, amid the controversy regarding the construction and the payment of the wall.

Videgaray disclosed that negotiations of a new NAFTA trade deal would begin on August 16.

In fact, Mr Videgaray added, Mr Peña Nieto didn't even hear the President's photo-op comment.

In January, Pena Nieto cancelled a trip to Washington in response to Trump's insistence on the issue, plunging the countries' relations into their biggest crisis in decades.

Trump looked to downplay the appearance of tension in their brief encounter on Friday, calling Pena Nieto a "friend". Let's see how it all turns out.

President Nieto expressed similar sentiments, praising the "flowing dialogue" on issues like "the negotiation of NAFTA; to continue working in terms of cooperation, especially for security, for the security of both nations, especially in our borders; and, of course, also working on migration issues".
