"We know we're capable of winning races at any type of racetrack and confident in each other in what we do", said Harvick after his 36th career victory in what is now the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and his first on the highly technical road circuit at Sonoma.

"I wish we could do this day over again", Bowyer said.

Clint Bowyer, a former Sonoma victor, wound up on the short end of the first round of qualifying, missing the 12-driver cut to advance to the last of two rounds of qualifying by.002 seconds. "Kurt winning the Daytona 500 and we have run well". Everybody from Bush, Jimmy John's and Mobil 1, Outback, Hunt Brothers and everybody. "We had a great strategy and it paid off".

"The speed was there especially at the end of the race".

His record at road courses will stack up with any driver in the series today, and at Sonoma, he now ranks first in laps led, driver rating and average running position.

The race ended under the checkered and yellow flags after Kasey Kahne crashed on the final lap. In case the race went into overtime, runaway leader Harvick saved tires and fuel as the laps wound down. Martin Truex Jr. had a vehicle that looked like it was going to compete for the win, but it ended up having mechanical failures that cost him a sixth straight top 6 finish.

"It's very disappointing", Truex said in the garage. Michael's father, Mario, is second with fifty-one.

Furniture Row Racing had an abysmal all-around race at Sonoma. "I mean this Toyota was so good today". You know sometimes these things happen, so appreciate all their effort out there at TRD. "Just one of those things trying to learn, and you make a mistake".

One of the key moments for Bowyer was when the final 56 laps of the race did not see the yellow flag be displayed.

The past six weeks have been better, and Harvick said that is just part of the growing pains.

Clint Bowyer, driver of the No. 14 Mobil 1 Ford Fusion for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), is certainly an expert on racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and, admittedly, he's witnessed his fare share of redneck behavior in his lifetime, the kind referred to by Foxworthy.

Kevin Harvick pulled away late to win the Toyota Save Mart 350 after Martin Truex Jr. encountered engine troubles on Sunday. If Harvick continues to compete consistently over the second half of the season, including the 10-race playoffs, he's a strong candidate to win his second title.

A seven-time victor past year in the Truck Series, Byron, broke through just a week after an agonizingly close loss to Denny Hamlin at MI. "We didn't have the qualifying fun we wanted".

It's fine when heroic strategy calls win races, but the Toyota/Save Mart 350 threatened to be decided only that way. That's a credit to everyone at Team Penske. "Just an fantastic fun day".

Bell, who finished fourth in his debut at Charlotte, won the pole and the first stage. "We didn't have quite enough at the end". "We have technicians who work on our skis, boots and bindings, so we appreciate what they do".

The 19-year-old Byron grabbed the lead with just over 20 laps left and won the NASCAR Xfinity race at Iowa Speedway on Saturday night for his first series victory. He is four points ahead of Matt Kenseth, who is also winless.

Larson, who won last week at MI, ran a fast lap of 95.295 miles per hour on the 1.99-mile Sonoma Raceway road course. Like Newman, Dillon hasn't been all that impressive in stage racing, but either way, he will have a chance to compete for a championship.
