Josh Harrop has quit Manchester United to join Preston just over a month after scoring a stunning goal on his first-team debut on the final day of last season.

Di Marzio explains that Ribalta will take on an important player recruitment and scouting role with United.

Ribalta told the club's official website: "They were handsome years, where I worked very well".

"I will look back on my time at Juventus with great pleasure".

Dopo cinque anni, lo Scouting Manager Javier Ribalta saluta la Juventus.

It remains to be seen what his official title will be, or if he will be involved in transfers along with executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward.

It is not known whether Ribalta, who is vastly experienced at elite- club level, will head up United's scouting operation or whether he will work alongside chief scout Jim Lawlor, but he will undoubtedly strengthen United's hand.

Ribalta also played a key role in Juve signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, and United believe he can have a big influence in helping to land the striker this summer.

When Morata chose to leave the Bernabeu, Ribalta convinced the player that Turin was the best place for him and also insisted Pratici spend what seemed like an over-the-odds fee for a player, who back then was just beginning to establish himself. This piece on Ribalta from May 2017 discusses how close he was with Morata and that was clearly a two-way relationship.

"Javi has been Alvaro's main supporter here in Turin. He knows football and he is always watching out for us - he is a phenomenon".
