Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo calls for referee's attention during the Confederations Cup, Group A soccer match between Portugal and Mexico, at the Kazan Arena, Russia, Sunday, June 18, 2017.

There is a feeling at the club that the Portugal global, who signed a new five-year contract in November, could be trying to strengthen his position at Real Madrid.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has opted against a reunion with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. "I don't have any solution but Cristiano, like everyone else, has a contract and is a Real Madrid player", Perez told radio station "Onda Cero". "He will surely tell us and we will see what happens".

"I do not want to draw conclusions". We are a team led by Zidane, a symbolic figure for Madridismo, who in a short space of time has become the best coach in the world.

Irked by the tax evasion case, Ronaldo reportedly feels that the Real Madrid club doesn't protect him the way it should.

Reports in Italy this week claimed that United are ready to offer an eye-watering bid comprising David de Gea and a cash sum for Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata. "Our priority is to keep our current core of players, and that is why we are not going to make any movements".

There are a few problems that might arise over this proposed transfer, which has been talked about ever since Ronaldo made the decision to leave the European champions following tax fraud allegations from Spanish authorities.

He is accused of evading tax to the value of 14.7m euros (£13m; $16m) between 2011 and 2014. The two overlapped at Real Madrid from 2010-2013, winning one La Liga title and a Copa del Rey.

A source close to United and Mourinho has, however, stated that the Portugal captain will not return to his former club. His agent, Jorge Mendes (who also represents Mourinho), claimed in 2015 that his release clause is over $1 billion.

Manchester United are "wary" of being drawn into a transfer saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

Eight years on, Ronaldo has scored a club-record 406 goals in 394 appearances.

A two-time La Liga victor, his 285 goals in 265 league appearances mean he is second only to Barcelona's Lionel Messi in that competition.

Ronaldo is said to have hired a law firm Baker Mackenzie to defend his 20% percent declaration to the Spanish taxman as correct or at least not a deliberate attempt, since a high proportion of his image rights earnings are from outside Spain. He also said he needed to speak to the Portuguese but, with the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation under way, now was not a good time. Talking but saying nothing.

"Nobody at Real wants him to leave", Florentino said.

The Manchester United boss is accused of €3.3million worth of tax fraud committed in 2011 and 2012.

A four-time Ballon d'Or victor, the 32-year-old Ronaldo is the top European soccer player.

They will have the final say. However, one thing that could kill the deal would be if it drags on for too long.
