Reigning Ballon d'Or and Best FIFA Men's Player award victor Ronaldo has been linked with a return to Manchester United having been "outraged" by what he feels is unfair treatment by Spanish tax authorities, making him determined to leave the country.

But in a later interview with radio station Onda Cero he revealed he had plans to talk to the Portuguese in the coming days. "I've heard everything through the newspapers". This is very odd and in the next few days I'll talk to him.

"The whole thing is very unusual because Cristiano Ronaldo is a great guy, both as a player and a person".

"I'm sure he will speak to us about what has happened (with the tax case), which has obviously affected his credibility, and we'll see what happens".

"Not I nor anyone at Madrid is contemplating that Cristiano could leave the club".

"What they have told me is that he has the same financial arrangements as he had in England, where he had no problems".

Spanish prosecutors have filed a lawsuit against the player accusing him of defrauding tax authorities of 14.7 million euros (12.87 million pounds) by hiding his image rights income between 2011 and 2014.

Four-time Ballon d'Or victor Ronaldo is accused of diverting €150m of advertising revenue and image rights through a shell company in the British Virgin Islands, a tax haven.

"I haven't learnt very much about the situation, he's at a very important tournament at the moment in the Confederations Cup and until that ends I'm not going to disturb the atmosphere of his team", added Perez.

Perez is impressed with Zidane's development over the past 18 months and is optimistic about Madrid's future.

However, Sky Sports are this morning claiming that United have serious reservations about re-signing the 32-year-old.

In a statement, Ronaldo's management company Gestifute said there had been no attempt to evade taxes.
