Sony's 'Venom' and 'Black Cat' Spinoffs Will Connect To 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

While the fans are eagerly waiting for upcoming Marvel venture, Spider-Man: Homecoming, the movie actors are leaving no stones unturned to promote the movie.

Nobody seems to know just how many MCU movies Spider-Man can be expected to be seen in, outside of his own solo outing, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

I actually felt Kevin Feige handled himself pretty well in the interview (he usually does) when Amy Pascal dropped the Venom bomb.

The poster features Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), with the Avengers tower in the background, headed to battle evil or better known as Vulture (Michael Keaton) in this film.

Considering that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has more explicitly stated that Venom will not be a part of the MCU, the word "adjuncts" might be the key to unraveling this confusing mess. Another could tease the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or maybe just what's in store for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.

"Well those movies will all take place in the world that we are now creating for Peter Parker", Pascal told German news outlet FilmStarts. In the world of game development, it seems there is always a good chance a title will be delayed at least once, if not multiple times.

If I was a cynical man, I might think Pascal is trying to drum up excitement for Sony's films (for which she serves as a producer), hoping to ride the wave of the highly-anticipated Homecoming. The frustration lide with the revelation that these movies would not only have ZERO ties to the new Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man, but there would be no Spider-Man in this world at all!

It's possible the Venom and Black Cat/Silver Sable movie will still be separate much like Marvel's TV shows are.

Many PlayStation 4 gamers were disappointed to find out Sony is only planning to release a handful of exclusive titles in 2017, and is saving numerous games shown at this year's E3 event - most notably Spider-Man - for 2018.
