Everton are ready to smash their £30 million transfer record to land Moussa Dembele as a direct replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Everton striker Lukaku has told his representatives that he wants a move away from Goodison Park as he attempts to seal a return to Chelsea.

The former Blues midfielder was quoted in the Daily Mail discussing Antonio Conte's need for a new striker to replace wantaway Costa this summer, and he came down firmly on the side of Romelu Lukaku despite the mixed feelings about the forward among Chelsea fans.

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole believes that Everton striker Romelu Lukaku would be a flawless replacement for Diego Costa, should the striker decide to leave the club this summer.

Cole, 35, also believes Conte should be targeted Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and Man City's Argentinian star Sergio Aguero.

Celtic would prefer to keep Dembele in Scotland for at least another season although they would find it nearly impossible to turn down £30m given they paid Fulham just £400,000 for the player 12 months ago.

United are also pursuing a deal for Alvaro Morata but Cole believes that Chelsea will do well to steer clear of the Spaniard, given his lack of experience in England. He is younger [than Costa], that's in his favour.

He said: "Sergio Aguero is in his prime, Alexis Sanchez is in his prime".

The Spanish forward has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup during his three-season stay. 'I think one of them three could be enough to make sure Chelsea are not weakened and maybe strengthened a little bit as well.

'The financial structure of it and the cost.

The Belgian striker scored 25 league goals for the Toffees last season, but has since expressed his desire to leave the club.

'Morata is another one but he has never played in England so there is a little question mark there.

Essien, meanwhile, has said that the pair had a good relationship during their time together, and a reunion is certainly possible, as long as they both want it.
