Hague was knocked out by Adam Braidwood in the fight, but his head hit the mat in a brutal fashion and although he briefly regained consciousness, was rushed to a local hospital.

Tim Hague died on Sunday after suffering a knockout loss in a boxing match in Canada on Friday night.

Multiple reports surfaced stating that Hague had passed away Saturday morning, but his sister has since refuted those reports. "He was surrounded by family, listening to his favorite songs. We are all with him".

Neil said in her statement that Hague's immediate family is now with him, and that they are asking for prayers and privacy at this very bad and hard time.

Jackie Neil said in a brief emailed statement on Saturday that her brother, Tim Hague, is in critical condition.

Throughout his career, though, when Hague has won fights, he's been a finisher. He used to be a kindergarten teacher before transitioning into mixed martial arts and UFC fighting. He returned to boxing in September 2016. You can see video of the fight here.

Braidwood is now ranked first in heavyweight boxing in western Canada and is ranked ninth overall with KO boxing.
