Jonathan Gormick said Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services were called to a residential building in east Vancouver and arrived to find the bodies of two people who had recently died.

He says the deaths were "sudden and suspicious".

According to a VPD news release, it's being treated as a "possible hazmat incident and a suspicious death investigation".

Clarke said the woman taken to hospital will be "fine".

Gormick says crows stayed on the scene to determine whether there were any hazardous materials inside the unit.

Police and the BC Coroners Service are both investigating the deaths.

The incident forced emergency crews to block off a condo building near King Edward and Knight Street from 11:30 a.m. today. For a while, residents of the building were being allowed to leave their homes but not to come back inside the building.
