Durant helps Warriors into 3-0 series lead

The biggest acquisition of the offseason had 14 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter, taking over in the final minutes.

What team could realistically knock off these Warriors, and how long will it take?

Afterwards, Steve Kerr said of KD: "You can tell, he knows this is his moment. He's been an unbelievable player in this league for a long time, and he senses this is his time, his moment, his team".

The Warriors enter with a 2-0 lead and people are starting to wonder if they'll sweep after their dominant start to the series given that it seems like the Cavs are out of answers. "I don't want to relax". I mean, listen, it happens.

Klay Thompson added 30 points for the Warriors and Stephen Curry finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

If not for their meltdown previous year, the Warriors, whose record-setting 73-win season got lost in the Finals aftermath, would be looking for a third straight crown.

Despite huge performances from LeBron James (39 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists) and Kyrie Irving (38 points), the Cavs were downed at Quicken Loans Arena.

"All I was looking at was the bottom of the net, " Durant said.

"But I can definitely appreciate the simple fact of him either reshaping his game or just sacrificing maybe some shots here, sacrificing having the ball in his hands all the time". To see that go in, that was liberating, man. Judge for yourself if Irving needed one too many steps to get this done. "The best thing with Golden State's situation is a lot of their guys are drafted". Number 35 then walked up to Lebron James and drilled the game-winning three-pointer. "I've played against some great teams, but I don't think no team has had this type of firepower". Not after getting this close, not after enduring so much heat for turning his back on the Thunder, not with a chance to put the Cavaliers in an insurmountable hole. They have a core of four All-NBA players in their prime and a fairly simple path to keeping them together.

And although it appears James, playing in his seventh straight Finals, will again fall short of a championship, Cleveland's superstar isn't faulting the Warriors for adding Kevin Durant to a 73-win team.

This time, the Cavs held a lead until late in the fourth quarter, but a furious fourth-quarter comeback led Golden State to victory. Not in Game 3.

The Warriors entered play as the best team in the National Basketball Association in the third quarter and had outscored the Cavs by 24 in the first two games. The first two games of the series have been blowouts in the second half, but hopefully we'll have ourselves a competitive rest of the game.
