Champions Chelsea became the first English side to register 30 top-flight victories in a 38-game season as they said farewell to captain John Terry with a comfortable Premier League win over bottom club Sunderland.

Goals from Willian, Eden Hazard, Pedro and two from Michy Batshuayi made Javier Manquillo's opener little consolation for the already-relegated Black Cats.

Conscious of his key men being tired for the final last time out against Watford, Conte made nine changes to his starting XI, a club record for a league game, and the Italian may well repeat this against Sunderland as he rotates again to keep his squad match-fit for Wembley.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte told BBC Radio 5 live: "I think that we had to find the best for him - to start the game and to be substituted in 26 minutes, his shirt number". I want to play.

Next season, however, they will have to cope without Terry, the man who lifted the trophy alongside defensive partner Cahill.

Terry had led Chelsea through a guard of honour from Sunderland ahead of kick-off, walking out on to the Stamford Bridge playing surface with son Georgie and daughter Summer.

Terry also paid tribute to departing first-team coach Steve Holland, who will now take up a full-time role with the England national team, as well as the owner Roman Abramovich, his family and the club's supporters.

A 13-match winning run followed and, despite some minor setbacks, Chelsea reclaimed the title relinquished to Leicester last season. "We found the right suit for these players", Conte said. If the players don't go into the idea with the right will or desire, it's very hard for any coach to have a good season.

Chelsea were presented with the Premier League trophy after full-time, the sixth league title in the club's history and their fifth of the Premier League era.

"There was a lot of emotion today", said Conte.

The diminutive player, who made a name for himself after winning the EPL with Leicester City previous year, collected a third individual prize to a list of achievements this season that includes bagging a second consecutive league title.

The 67-year-old Frenchman won't discuss his future until after Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea. At the beginning I didn't know how the team would have played which is the worst thing ever.

"The real danger for us is to think the season is finished".
