White House offers muted response on Comey memo

If President Trump was removed from office, Vice President Mike Pence would be immediately sworn in. The FBI has been investigating potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. Not only this, even the recent polls are not in Trump's favor. According to the recent polls conducted by PPP, 48 percent of Americans are now supporting Donald Trump's impeachment, compared with 41 percent of Americans who still believe in him. The articles of impeachment against Trump might look remarkably similar to those levied against Nixon and Clinton.

Justin Amash, a Republican congressman from MI, said that Comey's memo would be grounds for impeachment, if the allegations are true. The online petition, ImpeachTrumpNow suggests that Donald Trump's business dealings in the past still benefits him and creates a "conflicts of interest".

In a statement, Democratic Representative Nancy Pelosi said: "If these reports are true, the president's brazen attempt to shut down the FBI's investigation of Michael Flynn is an assault on the rule of law that is fundamental to our democracy".

Trump's mood has soured and he has turned against his aides, including son-in-law Jared Kushner, describing them as "incompetent", the New York Times reports in a fascinating behind-the-scenes account. To his credit, Comey did not "let it go". Not only this, the number of Democrats who are considering Trump's impeachment is growing every day. He said he had not discussed impeachment with anyone else in Congress.

Democrats, meanwhile, are using their meagre minority power to push the White House to release transcripts of the Oval Office conversation with Russian officials, and to release any tapes of Comey talking to Trump - the existence of which the president has hinted at.

"I rise today Mr. Speaker to call for the impeachment of the President of the United States of America for obstruction of justice". So, Why Chances Of Trump's Impeachment Are Low? The former president believing that appeasing the Iranians was in the strategic interests of the United States doesn't make him treasonous; it just makes him a bad president - and not the first or last.

Soon thereafter another Republican lawmaker was seen supporting the impeachment move. One Democrat on the intelligence committee said it's important to do the work, build the case against Trump as it comes. Ever since he became the president, he tried to fulfill his commitments he made during the 2016 presidential run. Until that day, I'm certain folks with giant platforms like David Gregory will continue claiming that the Russians "hacked the election"-an absurd yet oft-used phrase that has convinced millions of Americans that another country has abducted their votes, government, and free will". Furthermore, Congress will not consider Trump's impeachment overnight.

"We need to decide if members of Congress, and the country as a whole, believe that the President's conduct was corrupt enough - if indeed that is what we find - that his removal is not just the nullification of the election by other means".

Republicans outside the White House also hope the trip provides some breathing room from scandal. I think there will be some pretty powerful evidence if that's the case in the form of contemporaneous notes and memorand [a] written by the Federal Bureau of Investigation director, and Congress certainly needs to get ahold of those.

This isn't the first time a president has been accused of obstructing justice. Donald Trump impeachment maybe trending all over, but the fact remains the same.

One of the men arrested by police was James McCord Jr, security chief of the Committee to Re-elect President Richard Nixon. From their perspective, I believe they would think so.
