Rogic scored the second goal of Celtic's 5-0 drubbing of Partick Thistle, with the 24-year-old Australian sliding in to divert Leigh Griffiths' cross into the net in the 26th minute. "So, we've got everything to play for".

They are now unbeaten in 44 domestic games having already clinched the Scottish Premier League as well as the Scottish League Cup and take on Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish Cup.

Celtic dropped a gear in the second half but came close to a fourth when substitute Scott Sinclair met Roberts' cross on the volley with Ridgers producing a fine save to keep his effort out.

Callum McGregor and Roberts then added to the scoreline in the last 10 minutes to help Celtic move on to 104 goals - just one short of the record 105 they amassed in the 2003-04 campaign.

Should they avoid defeat on Saturday, Rodgers' men will complete an unbeaten league campaign - the first title-winning side to do so in over a century.

"But this is a different game, this is a team that is starting to understand our game, how we work, how the possession of the ball is key".

"The incentive is to win and even more important to play well", Rodgers said.

"I thought he was excellent last night and as the only fit striker at the club I wanted to protect him, like Dedryck Boyata and like I did with the others".

Only dropping eight points this season, courtesy of draws against Inverness, Rangers, Partick Thistle and Ross County, the team only need a draw to beat the single season points-total record.

"It was very pleasing from a coaching aspect and it was an outstanding team performance at this stage in the season".

Rodgers wasn't taking anything for granted ahead of Sunday's match but said that adding to the impressive goal and points tally was extra motivation. I think Celtic took their foot off the gas at half-time if I am being really honest.

"I just think sometimes when we were growing up we'd have been told and outside of football you'd have had a clip round the ear".
