Koeman also said he knew of no update in the situation of striker Romelu Lukaku, who told Everton in March that he would not sign the contract extension on offer.

The 23-year-old is the club's top creative force this season in the Premier League, making 80 chances of which eight are assists.

But Koeman is confident he will be able to retain the services of the Belgium worldwide.

"Expect a hat-trick against Arsenal away?"

"Romelu has two years more on his contract". It's after the game on Monday and then we will know it. "That is like everybody".

Ross Barkley faces the threat of being frozen out of the Everton first-team squad by Ronald Koeman if he fails to commit to a new deal over the next 72 hours.

"In my career, we lost one time Ruud Gullit in PSV [who joined AC Milan in 1987] and everybody was afraid", Koeman said.

But when asked if he felt confident of Barkley signing a new deal he answered: "No".

"I don't know what will happen if we don't get any answer, but am I confident he will sign? No".

The Dutch manager had also informed Barkley he had until the end of the season to make his choice, or he would be sold regardless, but with two days to go until Everton's final match of the campaign the England worldwide is still to give his answer.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman believes that Ross Barkley will leave the club this summer. Koeman's ultimatum said a lot and this latest broadside won't come as a surprise to Everton fans, but it won't make them happy.

"I think it's going to be tougher for him at Everton than he thought".

"I will have to talk about the situation but I expect an answer soon after the weekend and not another 10 days". We will go on. If we didn't want him to stay longer we wouldn't offer him a new contract. "I don't need to explain more".
