It's just unbelievable. Awesome day, awesome weekend. "Awesome weekend. This team rocks, man, they're so good. There's a lot of room on this track so we'll be just fine". We had an awesome race vehicle.

"I knew if I didn't come out of those restarts with the lead, I wasn't going to win", he said. I knew I had to make it happen.

Last week's victor at Talladega, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., qualified fourth and Kyle Busch fifth.

"The No. 78 got us on that restart somehow", Blaney said.

Who Had a Good Night: Harvick matched his best finish of the season set at Bristol in third and has finished top-three in six of the last eight Kansas races... We worked our way through it. But it was really whoever got in front and got the lead at that point, and he was really fast in that little final stage.

As for Patrick, it was the third time in four races that her night ended in a wreck.

"Just saying a lot of prayers for Aric [Almirola] right now", Logano said.

Who Had a Bad Night: Danica Patrick, Joey Logano and Aric Almirola were involved in a violent crash on lap 199.

Immediately Almirola dropped the window net signifying that he was conscious, but track workers needed to cut the roof off the No. 43 auto to extract the 33-year-old Richard Petty Motorsports driver.

Both Logano and Patrick were treated and released from the infield care center. I hope Aric is alright. NASCAR's cracked down a lot on tech the last month or two and it's something they take very seriously, which should be taken very seriously. Something broke on my auto.

"So, it was nice to show our muscle this weekend and prove that, like I said, this is where the 21 team deserves to be. If you're not close to the edge you're not going to be competitive". Johnson was on the receiving end of contact when Denny Hamlin made contact with Kurt Busch.

Truex's teammate Erik Jones wasn't as fortunate as his No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota was one of 11 cars that didn't make it through the pre-qualifying technical inspection process.

"It happens, I guess".

It was clear he had a good short run auto. "That was good. We had a really great Freightliner Elite Support Ford just kept getting caught in adversity there".

Truex wouldn't be denied, but his breakthrough victory was overshadowed by a scary accident that left one driver hospitalized. "Any of those restarts I could have gotten beat on". It kind of stinks.

But Truex increased his lead on the final restart ahead of Blaney, who was passed by Keselowski and Kevin Harvick with a lap remaining.

Blaney retook the lead on another restart a few laps later, but was shuffled back to fifth after pitting during a lap 216 caution when five drivers remained on the race track. This is our home race track - the guys from Colorado. But Truex carried his momentum and moved to Blaney's outside and swept to the lead.

Harvick finished third followed by Blaney, Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson. It was his second win of 2017 and the ninth of his career.

Before he took questions from reporters, Ryan Blaney chatted with Brad Keselowski in the interview room.

Meanwhile, Johnson and Earnhardt will be among those starting at the back.

ELLIOTT DAMAGED: Chase Elliott's Chevrolet suffered damage to the right front fender while exiting his pit stall when he collided with Michael McDowell, who was entering the stall during a Stage 1 caution.
