Marvel has released yet another trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and though it doesn't reveal anything new (it's all the same footage from the previous trailers), it's got a fun 80s sitcom feel to it.

So here we are, back again, to join Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the gang as they tackle huge alien forces and grow ever-closer as a makeshift family.

The 46-year-old director is now helping Marvel plan their long-term slate and wants the "Expendables" star to play a key role. Comic Book reports that after directing "Guardians of the Galaxy 3", Gunn will administrate the future Marvel movies. The first film, "Guardians of the Galaxy" Vol. 1, premiered in 2014, while the U.S. release date for the sequel is on May 5, 2017. For more on the film you can read Haleigh Foutch's review.

The cast gathered for a news conference in Beverly Hills, California, last week, when Gunn acknowledged that many sequels end up as simple rehashes but said he had tried to let his characters grow into new people.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, co-starring Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, opens nationwide May 5.

The most well-known tidbit we already knew coming into a viewing is that team leader/lead actor Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finally will find the father (Kurt Russell stars as Star-Lord's celestial genetic supplier, Ego, a living planet) he never knew.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits United States theaters on May 5th, 2017. He says "by listening, hearing music and watching movies I felt a little bit less alone and I hope that's what Guardians does for people".

"I knew that everybody loved it, though", he said. Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premieres in US theaters May 5, 2017. The work of Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn as Yondu and Kraglin also deserves to be highlighted as both take two entertaining characters from the first movie and give them a heck of a lot of heart here.
