New York Met With 2017 NBA Draft Prospect De'Aaron Fox

Lately, fortune has favored the Lakers, who drafted second overall in back-to-back years, netting D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram with those picks. The working theory is that, come the 2017 NBA Draft, team president Phil Jackson will finally address the need for a star-caliber point guard.

"If we haven't seen these guys by now, we haven't done our job", Colangelo said of the scouting process.

The interview might not mean too much; if the Celtics fall below the first pick, Fultz will likely be off the board anyway. While many believed that it may be the case, Ball is certainly no lock to be the LA Lakers pick should the front office keep their selection.

That combination has Fox widely regarded as one of the Top 5 prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft, as well as the potential top choice for the Knicks.

NY (31-51) has a 5.3 percent chance to land the No. 1 overall pick and the opportunity to draft Fultz, the 18-year-old stud point guard who visited the Garden in May for a game and said "it'd be amazing" to be drafted by the Knicks.

Fultz is the first freshman since LaDrell Whitehead in the 1994-95 campaign to average at least 20.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Orlando has an 8.8 percent chance to get the No. 1 overall pick and a 9.7 percent chance at getting the No. 2 overall pick.

The Lakers also plan to meet with Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox on Thursday.

The Knicks will find out exactly where they pick on Tuesday night when the National Basketball Association holds its draft lottery.

In addition, the Sixers will have four second-round picks: Nos.

Fultz's fit with Philadelphia might be a bit odd given that the team will have two primary ball-handlers competing for possessions, but Fultz's ability to shoot away from the ball should make that stretch less awkward.
