The display-related patch would give users "a further enhanced ability to adjust the color setting to their preference", Samsung said in an emailed statement.

Samsung told The Wall Street Journal that it will issue two patches for its new smartphone this week: one to fix an issue where users are having spotty Wi-Fi connections, and another to fix the red tint issue.

Overall, the devices could be Samsung's best-performing smartphones yet.

Samsung accounted for 26% of global smartphone sales in the first quarter of this year, ahead of Apple's 17%, according to TrendForce.

All older fast charging pads released for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge are supposed to work with the new flagship phones.

The company widely touted the Galaxy S8 display - a large curved screen that flows onto the phones sides - and analysts said it was a huge selling point for the new device. In other words, the red tint doesn't mean you have a defective display, it just means that Samsung tuned it poorly and will allow you do take control going forward.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is not flawless as the company sees a few issues on its early devices including an unusual reddish color of the screen. The phones had similar problems when dropped on the backs and sides, "losing the glass from its lower left corner, making access to software buttons a little risky". The Galaxy S8 is apparently holding the company's expectations up.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus became available in Korea and the U.S. last week, and it seems like market researchers are expecting more interest in the Galaxy S8 Plus, which is quite surprising.

As reported by iFixit, the teardown of Galaxy S8+ reveals that Samsung has opted for a battery that is similar to the Note 7. Samsung believes that the hue is not a defect, and users can easily rectify the problem by adjusting the display's colour range in Settings.
