Collins said that while it's an important series, it's not the World Series, so the Mets will continue to take a conservative approach when it comes to injuries.

Duda suffered a hyperextended elbow against the Phillies on Wednesday when Cesar Hernandez crashed into Duda's glove with his shoulder while the first baseman was trying to field a throw from the pitcher.

"Any time you're talking about a hamstring, it's a concern", manager Terry Collins said.

"We have Monday off, but I think unless he makes a miraculous recovery today, we'd be foolish to push him with the extra day on Monday", Collins said. Travis D'Arnaud (bruised wrist) was scratched Friday night, in favor of Rene Rivera, after he experienced trouble throwing earlier in the day.

The injury bug is something that has pestered the Mets before. "It could increase to be more". With Wilmer Flores also on the DL, Jay Bruce figures to handle first base regularly, clearing space in the lineup for Michael Conforto. Duda had to leave the game because of the injury. "But that could all change tomorrow".

Catcher Kevin Plawecki was recalled from Class AAA Las Vegas on Thursday, while right-hander Jeurys Familia was activated as his 15-game suspension for violating the league's domestic violence policy ended. Rivera and Sean Gilmartin taking their places on the 25-man roster. David Wright can't be counted on at this stage of his career, playing in just 75 games total the previous two years; the club placed him on the 60-day disabled list Thursday.
