Finally, April the Giraffe has given birth to her most anticipated calf.

The Harpursville, New York, zoo has opened a baby-naming contest on their website after the calf's Saturday, April 15, birth.

Seconds after birth, April tenderly licked her calf, which began to slowly pick his head up from the floor of the pen. About 45 minutes after he was born, he stood on wobbly legs while mom helped keep him steady. The zoo says funds raised in this effort will go towards giraffe conservation efforts, Ava's Little Heroes, and towards the Animal Adventure Park itself.

Birth stats for April the giraffe's new calf were revealed Sunday by Animal Adventure Park in NY on its Facebook page.

April's labor began at approximately 7:20 am this morning and the calf was born at Animal Adventure in Harpursville, NY on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 9:53 am. Those have included a parody of the live-stream by a pregnant woman, a day-by-day analysis of pregnancy signs, baby showers for April, and people anxiously awaiting the big event. You even get to decide your own spelling.

The Animal Adventure Park is holding a contest for the next ten days for people to suggest a name for the new calf.

April will raise the calf, with weaning expected to take between six to 10 months.

April became famous in February when YouTube canceled her live stream feed for a short while after some complaints from animal rights activists.

A Farmington, New Hampshire, songwriter even posted a music video on YouTube called, "I'm Going Crazy Waiting (For A Giraffe)". The gestation period for giraffes is 14 or 15 months, and by the end carting around 129 pounds of some other being ain't no joke.

The newborn is April's fourth calf but Animal Adventure Park's first giraffe calf.
