According to the Secret Service, on April 10, Jair Nilton Cardosa, 30, went to the fourth floor of the Tribeca office where the 18-year-old Obama was working as an intern, put a sign on a window and repeatedly yelled to her asking her to marry him.

He was removed from the building by Obama's Secret Service agents.

Agents in plain clothes noticed Cardoso pretending to be blind while watching the teen from across the street.

A man has been held by the Secret Service after allegedly stalking and proposing to former first daughter Malia Obama. They told him to leave her alone and turned him away.

They concluded Cardoso suffered from psychiatric issues and escorted him to a Brooklyn hospital for a medical evaluation.

Secret Service reported Cardoso's behavior to the police on Tuesday, and law enforcement officials are now considering whether to bring stalking and harassment charges against Cardoso.

The eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama is now spending the spring interning at the film production company. The teenager, who is taking a gap year before enrolling in her parents' alma mater, Harvard University, wore a daring denim shirtdress to work on a day in which city temperatures finally warmed into the 80s.

The Manhattan district attorney's office declined comment.

A spokesman told the DailyMail.com: 'As a matter of practice the Secret Service does not comment on the means and methods of protective operations or investigations'.
