Kawhi Leonard has scored a game-high 37 points and added 11 rebounds to help the San Antonio Spurs beat the visiting Memphis Grizzlies 96-82 to take a 2-0 lead in the National Basketball Association playoff series.

After dropping Game 1 of the opening round series, 111-82, the Grizzlies were unable to bounce back in Game 2, leading to Fizdale's obvious frustration.

At his post-game press conference, Fizdale launched what turned into an epic rant about the officiating, citing stats from shooting in the paint to free throws. The disparity with the Spurs may not have been because of officiating in a single game, but more likely because the Grizzlies' inside shots often rely on pivot moves or quick stops instead of the bruising drives that are rewarded with free throws, and due to their season-long penchant for fouling shooters. We don't get the respect that these guys deserve, because Mike Conley doesn't go insane, he has class, and he just plays the game, but I'm not gonna let them treat us that way.

Like the Spurs, the Cavaliers can take a big step a toward potential first-round sweep Thursday night when they play at Indiana.

In his postgame comments, Fizdale referenced Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard's 19 free throws (he made them all en route to a 37-point night) and the lack of free throws by Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph. They shot 18 times in the paint and shot 32 free throws.

"Honestly I don't understand it", Randolph said. Coach Popovich probably didn't have much to say to his team as they hit the ground running and jumped out to lead by 56-37 at halftime before holding off a late charge in the second half.

Mike Conley is one of the good guys of the National Basketball Association. San Antonio now has a 2-0 series lead headed to Memphis.

San Antonio led for all but 13 seconds in winning its 10th consecutive postseason game over Memphis. "The Bears are who we thought they were!" Overall, 35 times we shot the ball in the paint. But I'm not gonna let them treat us that way.

Memphis scored the first six points of the fourth quarter to crawl to within 75-71 but the Spurs responded with a Leonard jumper and a Parker 3-pointer to create a little breathing room. Grizzlies F JaMychal Green split his rookie season (2014-15) between San Antonio and Memphis. If Memphis wants to get back into this series, they need to figure out how to stop, or at least slow Leonard down. The Grizzlies won two of the previous four such series.
