Gujarat Lions vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Gujarat Lions need a win, the Royal Challengers Bangalore need a win - so it is safe to say that IPL 2017 Match 20 will be one full of nerves, tension and, hopefully, excitement.

The Kiwi batsman celebrated the 10th anniversary of the magnificent 158* he scored on the opening night of the Indian Premier League with a stroke-filled half-century; he reached fifty in style, depositing Negi into the stands behind square-leg. Suresh Raina takes a little time - well, about five-seven balls or so - and once he comes to terms with the pace of the pitch, the left-hander joins Smith in some boundary-hitting fun.

RCB slumped to the bottom of the points table after their after 27-run loss against Rising Pune Supergiant on Sunday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. It took Manoj Tiwary, playing only his second match since the death of his father, to fix the damage. With more experience of playing in the middle-order and as the best player of spin among the overseas openers the Lions have, Finch should take to the field at Rajkot ahead of Roy. "Chahal is not scared, his biggest plus point is he always wants to take wickets", he said.

Gujarat faltered once again at the start, losing the key wickets of West Indian Dwayne Smith (1) and skipper Suresh Raina (23) to Chahal.

To keep their campaigns alive, both teams will have to get off the blocks soon. GL made three changes, bringing in Finch - who missed the last game due to a weird reason of lost kit bag - Shivil Kaushik and Dhawal Kulkarni in place of Jason Roy, Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (capt), Tymal Mills, Aniket Chaudhary, Praveen Dubey, Billy Stanlake, Villers, Chris Gayle, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harshal Patel, Mandeep Singh, Adam Milne, Sarfaraz Khan, Sreenath Arvind, Kedar Jadhav, Shane Watson, Stuart Binny, Sameuel Badree, Iqbal Abdulla, Travis Head, Sachin Baby, Avesh Khan and Tabraiz Shamsi. The slow starter that he is, Gayle launched his assault once he got the monkey off the back, hitting Ravindra Jadeja for 2 sixes and 2 fours in an over. The Kiwi marauder's association with Dwayne Smith at the top was one of the highlights of Lions' debut season past year. Tripathi (31) fell victim to a blinding Kohli catch four balls later and Steven Smith and MS Dhoni then found scoring hard. However, Head and Jadhav ended the innings on a high with an unbroken 54-run partnership off just 25 balls.
