San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies Game 2

Kawhi Leonard matched his postseason high with 32 points and San Antonio rolled to a 111-82 victory over Memphis on Saturday night in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series.

The Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs meet in game two of the National Basketball Association first round playoffs Monday at the AT&T Center. "They plugged the paint, and we've got to be a little more disciplined with our spacing and hold our spots so we have outlets when we drive".

Harden and Westbrook are former teammates in Oklahoma City and remain good friends, but neither seems drawn by the hype that this series is all about them.

Still, don't expect Coach Pop to allow the Spurs to sit on their laurels after a dominating first game. The Spurs should secure home court in the next game and then the series will begin in Grizzlies territory.

Spurs defeated the Grizzlies in overtime, 95-89.

Gasol nearly single-handedly kept the Grizzlies in the game, pouring in 25 points while outscoring all his teammates combined. That being said, I am not super confident in his ability to adapt quickly. With him missing games, Leonard has no one to stop him from scoring at will.

Similar to some of the nagging injuries Parker has sustained this season. "It's right back to the drawing boards and to zero pretty much on how we're attacking tonight's game".

PRESSURE IS ON: Paul George. Something else to watch for is how the team will handle the loss of veteran leader Tim Duncan. I don't have time. His pull-up jumper off an isolation against James Ennis III gave San Antonio an 84-64 lead to close the third, erasing a 13-point deficit in the first half. "We need to be more consistent". "I was lucky enough to start the game very efficient and getting good looks, but it's not about that". I don't think starting Daniels or Ennis III or anyone else saves them at this point- and that includes Tony Allen if/when he returns. "I just want to win". "You've just got to deal with that".

Memphis opens its first-round playoff series Saturday at San Antonio. So it should be no surprise that three out of their four games played during the regular season went under the Vegas total. San Antonio, meanwhile, outscored the Grizzlies by 42 points over the next two quarters, including a 19-0 run between the third and the fourth. Although (Pau) Gasol has begun to come off the bench, his minutes are still significant and the impact that he makes will still be crucial. However, Memphis is really going to have to kick it into high gear in order to challenge San Antonio. We know them, they know us. "Offensively, I was aggressive".

GUARDING KAWHI: Leonard led the Spurs averaging 25.5 points a game, and Grizzlies defensive whiz Tony Allen is out indefinitely with a a href=''-Allen-out-indefinitely-with-strained-calf-muscle'strained right calf./a That leaves Fizdale trying to figure who to use and hopefully slow down Leonard. Leonard connected on 11 of his 14 attempts from the field and kept knocking down contested shots. Get some things off my chest, ask some questions, hope to find some know, the type of existential thinking that occurs after the team you follow gets smacked in their opening game of the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

Prediction: Spurs in 5 games. "But we'll be better". He made a lot of great plays for us. "If we're going to do anything in the playoffs, it's going to be as a team on both ends of the floor".
