HMD Global is gearing up to launch its new Nokia Android phones in India. Instead, the company took the wraps off three mid-end Android smartphones - the Nokia 6, 5 and 3, alongside a revamped version of Nokia 3310.

Can Nokia and BlackBerry stand on their own, or is it all hype and nostalgia?

According to the changelog, the update coming to Nokia 6 includes the Android 7.1.1 update and other features.

This update, weighing around 370 MB will bring the latest April security patch to the device also.

Not only does it upgrade the phone's OS to Android 7.1.1, but also adds support for 4G/3G dual sim dual standby. Moreover, the Nokia USB driver has been updated to latest version, and all the preinstalled apps have been replaced with latest versions. As you can see in the screenshot below, the update requires at least 616MB of space for the installation, so make sure your Nokia 6 has sufficient free storage remaining. The fact that Nokia already started to roll out the Android 7.1.1 update to its users suggests they are committed to staying on the market, not only making a passing comeback.

We remind you that the Android 7.1 update came with a number of new features. The first thing that Nokia users can do is enjoy the shortcuts from the home screen, its a very useful functionality when doing simple tasks. The company is also expected to release the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, which are lower-end, in some countries in early May.
