It's been 7 years since Gorillaz have done any sort of touring, so that's why today's announcement that the band is playing the Fox Theatre during a huge North American tour is so exciting.

Gorillaz had previously announced appearances at Quebec City Summer Festival in Quebec City and Outside Lands in San Francisco, but now confirm more festival appearances at Meadows in New York City, Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas and III Points in Miami.

After a five-year hiatus, Gorillaz's much-anticipated return is a big score for Life is handsome, as the band, which seldom tours, will be making its Vegas debut.

A full lineup announcement is expected in May, but tickets for III Points go on sale online this Friday. The 17-stop tour will make its start in Chicago and make its way around the United States and Canada.

The new album features Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn and a typically diverse group of guests, including Danny Brown, De la Soul, Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Pusha T and Grace Jones.

As it now stands, the group's only other Canadian date will happen on July 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
