Samsung has gone to great lengths to position its new Bixby assistant as the automated centerpiece of the new Galaxy S8. Bixby was reportedly developed using Samsung's in-house technology, but updates will incorporate Viv's features and tech.

Samsung was hoping that Bixby would help it break into the surging market of voice activated or digital assistants which is now dominated by the likes of Amazon's Alexa, Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana and Google's Assistant.

The company had already explained that Samsung Bixby Voice will not be available worldwide at the time of launch.

Anyways, if Samsung has to make amends to its Galaxy Note 7 debacle then it has some serious work to do especially with the dedicated button for launching Bixby.

The company's widely touted artificial intelligence tool Bixby - seen as a rival for Apple's Siri - won't be fully operational in time for the USA release of the Galaxy S8.

The Samsung refuse to spoke the reason why the voice assistant feature was being delayed.

Will a lack of Bixby stop you buying the S8? This news would certainly disappoint the buyers who have been waiting to try out the Bixby assistant on the Galaxy S8.

There was some confusion about Bixby Voice ahead of the launch of the S8, with Samsung initially saying that it wouldn't be available in the United Kingdom right away. Bixby will also be able to learn a user's routine and pull the most important information and tasks from different apps onto a single screen. While most of Bixby's functions resemble those of the Google Assistant, the former had a few aces up its sleeve that give it a unique identity to some extent.

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch QHD+ display with a 1440x2960 pixels resolution.
