Dunkin' Donuts is getting rid of the Coffee Coolatta

Dunkin has announced that they will no longer be serving the coffee coolatta, instead making room for a new frozen coffee drink.

"Our Coffee Coolatta isn't good enough", Chris Fuqua, Dunkin's senior vice president of brand marketing, said at a media day at Dunkin' Brands' headquarters on Tuesday, Business Insider reported.

Dunkin' Donuts will say goodbye to its frozen coffee Coolatta, add a new frozen coffee to its menu and debut an amped-up drink in partnership with Monster Energy as part of an expanded product lineup.

The Coolatta has 990 calories and 133 grams of sugar.

Dunkin' Donuts may have had its most successful launch of the century with Cold Brew past year, but it's not resting on its laurels.

The move highlights the chain's push to promote different coffee-related drinks as new brews become more and more popular. "But, we believe it's time we. contemporize our frozen platform". To that effect, the chain started serving cold brew coffee last summer and is now serving nitro cold brew in five locations with plans to roll it out in more stores soon. The new drink has Dunkin' Donuts coffee extract, ice, liquid cane sugar, and dairy. Dubbed the "Dunkin' Energy Punch Powered by Monster Energy", the drink will, according to the Boston Herald, combine a can of Monster Energy with Dunkin' blue raspberry or strawberry fruit Coolatta flavors, served over ice.
