Now, the electric startup has given us details on Air trim levels, along with its official starting price-$52,500 after federal tax credits. Still, even at $60,000, the base Lucid Air is eight grand cheaper than the Tesla Model S 60.

Today, the company announced pricing for the Lucid Air, which is said to trump Tesla's Model S with a range of as much as 400 miles (versus the Model S's maximum 315). In comparison, the base model Tesla Model S 60 lists from $71,300 before incentives.

Base models will be equipped with "all hardware necessary for autonomous driving", according to Lucid. Lucid Motors previously said it would begin producing its cars in the fourth quarter of 2018.

"The base-model auto will be well appointed and enjoyable to drive", Zak Edson, Lucid Motors' director of marketing, wrote in the blog post.

On top of that, the basic Lucid Air also comes standard with a 10-speaker stereo, 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, a trio of touchscreen, a pair of trunks packing a total of more than 32 cubic feet of space, and 10 airbags.

While the low price models are cheaper, a fully loaded Air will cost more than $100,000, forcing people to opt for a Model S instead.

For the cost of entry, Lucid Air buyers will get a 400 horsepower, rear-wheel drive electric sedan capable of covering 240 miles on a single charge. Fortune took a spin in a 1,000 horsepower prototype with Lucid Motors chief technology officer Peter Rawlinson earlier this year. There also will be luxury add-ons such as a glass-canopy roof; 22-way power front seats with heating, ventilation, and massage; special 21-inch wheels; and a 29-speaker audio system.

The company will kick off Air production with 255 units of "Launch Edition" vehicles, that will likely be fully loaded and priced over $100,000. Battery options will offer ranges of 315 and 400 miles.
